Masks

Guess what?

I see you

through your mask.

You hide your pain well,

but so do I.

If all the world’s a stage

and we’re the players,

we just keep faking,

putting on a show.

But who will watch us?

Who sees our trials?

There, you dropped your mask.

I saw your brokenness,

and I know your pain.

I bear matching scars,

and I hide the pain too.

Guess what?

I see you.

Through my mask.
